Who is a good candidate for neurotoxin treatments like Botox and Xeomin?

The best candidates for Botox® and Xeomin® are those who wish to prevent wrinkles and fine lines before they start or who wish to soften existing mild to moderate facial wrinkles and lines. Most people who are generally healthy are good candidates for neurotoxin injection, although make sure to disclose all your medical conditions, including muscle or nerve conditions, during your consultation, as these could make neurotoxins unsafe.

How do neurotoxins like Botox and Xeomin work?

These neurotoxins relax the movement of the facial muscles that create wrinkles and lines on the face. Botox® and Xeomin® treatments work by blocking the uptake of acetylcholine by the muscles of the face. Through this process, facial wrinkles soften and may, in some cases, be eliminated entirely.

When can I expect to see results from the treatment?

Most clients begin seeing treatment results within 5 to 10 days, with full effects at the 2-week mark.

How long do Botox and Xeomin results last?

Neurotoxins like Botox® or Xeomin® typically last between 3-4 months depending on your regular activity levels. We recommend patients stick to a consistent treatment regimen to fully reap the benefits.

What areas can Botox and Xeomin treat?

Botox and Xeomen soften dynamic wrinkles in various facial areas. Our most common areas of treatment include:

What is the treatment process like?

Treatment with Botox or Xeomin is a relatively quick procedure that can even easily be performed during your lunch break at our state-of-the-art facility in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Our expert injectors will use a very fine needle to place the product into the individual muscles causing unwanted wrinkles. A handful of small injections may be needed to make sure your ideal results are achieved.

Does it hurt?

The needle used for neurotoxin injections is very tiny and patients often describe these injections as a little “snap” or “pinch” at the injection site. This is a sensation that’s well-tolerated and you shouldn’t feel any serious pain or discomfort. You can also apply an ice pack to the treatment area on your way to your appointment should you desire. While some patients are more sensitive than others, nearly all our patients tolerate the treatment well.

Is one brand of product better than the other?

Neurotoxin injectables like Botox® and Xeomin® contain the same purified protein and work in the same way. The key difference between the two is the extra proteins Botox uses. Xeomin is purified to isolate the therapeutic component of the protein molecule and filter out the accessory proteins. Can Botox and Xeomin be combined with other treatments?

Yes, you can receive Botox® or Xeomin® the same day you receive some other treatments, including other injectables. Many of our clients choose to have these products administered alongside dermal fillers or our platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) bio-filler injections for comprehensive full-face balancing and rejuvenation.

What happens if I am not happy with my results?
